What happens in a 60-minute class?
Every class follows the same five stages, so you know what you are walking into. The instructor screens each participant before the warm-up and modifies the sequence for your stage, so a first-trimester participant and someone eight weeks postpartum can work in the same room.
1
Check-in and screening
We confirm your trimester or weeks postpartum, any clearance on file, and anything that felt different this week.
15 Min
2

Yes, for most pregnancies. Prenatal yoga is a modified practice: we avoid deep twists, prone positions, breath retention and anything that loads the abdominal wall, and we screen you at the start of every class. If your pregnancy is high-risk, or you have placenta praevia, cervical insufficiency, pre-eclampsia or a history of preterm labour, bring written clearance from your obstetrician first.
-
From 12 weeks in most cases. Many participants join at the start of the second trimester, once early nausea has settled, and continue until the week they give birth. If you already have a movement practice you can start earlier with your doctor's agreement.
-
Usually 6 weeks after an uncomplicated vaginal birth, or 8 to 10 weeks after a caesarean, in both cases after your postnatal check. The early classes focus on breathing, pelvic floor coordination and reloading the deep abdominals rather than on intensity.
-
Not routinely for an uncomplicated pregnancy. You do need written clearance if your pregnancy has been flagged as high-risk, if you are returning after a caesarean or a difficult birth, or if you have a condition affecting your pelvis, blood pressure or heart.
