Holistic Childbirth Preparation Course
Pregnant?
Feeling Uncertain?
This course is designed specifically for busy couples and is delivered over two sessions of four hours each.
Why Attend A Childbirth Course?
You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know
Birth isn’t just pain and pushing. Learn what to expect, when to go to hospital, and how to stay calm and informed.
Birth Can Be Intense — But You Don’t Have to Be Scared
Fear leads to tension, which leads to more pain. Understanding your body reduces fear, eases pain, and helps labour progress. Knowledge is power.
Because Partners Need to Level Up Too
It’s not just for mums. Partners learn how to support, soothe, and advocate — no more standing awkwardly on the sidelines. You’ll learn how to breathe together, move together, and make decisions as a team.
So You Can Advocate for Yourself
Know your options, understand medical terms, and make informed decisions under pressure.
It Prepares You for After the Baby Comes
Postpartum hits hard. A good course includes newborn care, breastfeeding, sleep expectations, and how to take care of yourself. You’ll walk in ready — and walk out supported.
Get a taste of our “Birthing Toolkit” — with breathing techniques and baby positioning to support you from early labour through delivery. It’s all about building confidence in your body’s natural ability to birth.
Course Content
The course runs for 8 hours and covers:
-
Congratulations! Our Holistic Childbirth Prep course starts with a group introduction and a summary of the antenatal period. We cover recognising labor signs, deciding when to go to the hospital, packing a hospital bag, and creating a birth plan.
By the end, you'll understand all 3 stages of labor, focusing on the 1st Stage, coping strategies, and pain relief options in Singapore, both medicated and unmedicated, with an epidural video.
We now also include a snippet of our popular “Birthing Toolkit” in our class, where we practice breathing, and positions for labour. It also teaches your birth companion tools to support you during labour.
In topic 2, we explore the 2nd and 3rd stages of labor, the birth of your baby, and placenta delivery options, with an ongoing update to your birth plan and a short film of a vaginal birth.
We also discuss birth variations, including labor induction, different assisted delivery methods, and Caesarean sections, ending with a short film on two women's CS experiences.
-
This session covers immediate post-delivery care, emphasising the benefits of skin-to-skin contact for parents and baby.
We focus on breastfeeding, including what to expect, changes in milk supply, signs of sufficient feeding, and common issues. A short film on breastfeeding positions and baby’s feeding cues, along with a doll practice session, is included. We also discuss returning to work, formula feeding, and equipment sterilisation.
Our final topic explores newborn care, safe sleeping, and available support. We cover immunisations and routine checks from birth to 18+ months.
We will also have a Medical Professional speak about issues which may arise and how to manage them in a timely manner.
The practical session includes holding, burping, bathing, and diaper changing with baby dolls, ending the course on a fun note.
FAQ’s
When’s the best time to start preparing for birth?
At the beginning of your 2nd trimester (between the 13th to 27th weeks). We recommend that you complete the course by the 35th week of pregnancy.
Small group, big impact — sound like your kind of class?
With fewer than 10 couples, our classes offer a calm, interactive space to prep for birth and baby — without the overwhelm.
Who’s in your village?
Because here’s the truth: partners go back to work, visitors stop checking in, and the real emotional load begins. Having a tribe — other parents going through the exact same thing at the exact same time — is what keeps you grounded.
