3 hour class on the essentials of CPR, First Aid & Emergency procedures
This course covers the essentials of CPR, First Aid, and emergency response — tailored for parents of babies and young children, and expectant couples in their third trimester.
We hope you’ll never need to use these skills, but believe every parent should be prepared to act confidently in an emergency.
Taught by qualified healthcare professionals, this essential course is delivered in two parts:
Part 1: First Aid Basics for Babies & Young Children
Learn how to confidently manage common childhood emergencies, including:
When and how to call an ambulance
What to include in a first aid kit
How to identify and manage: poisoning, burns, head injuries, bleeding, fractures, allergic reactions, drowning, skin infections, and heat-related issues
Common household hazards to look out for
Part 2: CPR & AED Training
Hands-on practice using baby and child mannequins to learn:
Effective CPR techniques
Safe use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
How to assist a choking baby or child
We encourage open discussion and questions throughout.
Please wear comfortable clothing — some activities will take place on the floor. A short break is included between sessions.
