Everyday care and emergency care are two different skills
Knowing how to bath a newborn does not teach anyone what to do when he stops breathing. Knowing infant CPR does not stop a bottle being prepared badly, a cot being made unsafe, or a fever going unnoticed. The two courses barely overlap — which is exactly why they belong together.
Most families book the bundle two to four weeks before their baby's expected arrival, or in the first week home with new help.

"Does my helper really need this?"
My helper already has childcare experience
Experience is not the same as current guidance. Safe sleep advice, choking technique and CPR ratios have all changed over the years. The course aligns what she already knows with what is recommended now — and with how your household wants things done.
Wouldn't an experienced confinement nanny already know this?
Many nannies are highly experienced. A refresher makes sure she is up to date with the safest current newborn practices before she takes care of your baby — and gives you both a shared vocabulary for the weeks ahead.
Can I book just one course?
Yes — Cradle Care ($290) and First Aid for Helpers ($260) are each available on their own, with no conditions attached. The bundle simply costs $70 less than booking both.
She's done a first aid course before
Most general first aid courses are adult-focused. Ours is paediatric throughout: infant and child CPR, infant choking, febrile seizures, bottle preparation and the accidents that happen in a Singapore home. If her certificate is more than a year old, the hands-on practice alone is worth the six hours.
Should parents attend instead?
These sessions are designed for the caregiver who does the work day to day. Parents are welcome to join, and many do — it is the fastest way to get everyone in the house doing the same thing the same way. If you want a course aimed at you, ask us about our parent classes.
Are private classes available?
Yes, on request for First Aid for Helpers — helpful if you have two caregivers to train or a schedule that group dates don't fit.

Does Cradle Care overlap with First Aid?
No. First Aid covers CPR, choking and household safety. Cradle Care covers everyday newborn care — feeding, bathing, safe sleep and soothing. They are complementary, which is why the bundle exists.
Is it practical, or mostly theory?
Practical. CPR and choking are practised on mannequins; feeding, bathing, nappies and cot set-up are demonstrated and rehearsed. Discussion is encouraged throughout, and helpers are asked to bring their real questions.

One last thing
The same feeding routine whoever gives the bottle. The same cot, set up the same safe way, every nap. And someone in the house who knows exactly what to do in the first sixty seconds of an emergency. That is what this training buys you — not a certificate on the wall, but a calmer home.
